Appearing In Male Calendar Generates Opportunities For Cincinnati College Student

Cincinnati Student Gets Opportunities

News story about appearing in male calendar generates opportunities for cincinnati college student.

Calendar showing opens doors for Oak Hills grad

Did you catch "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last Wednesday, Feb. 24?

If you did you probably caught more than a peek of Brett Shaut. Shaut, 24, a 1987 Oak Hills High School graduate, is a senior psychology major at Ohio State University.

He's also one of 12 models in the Campus Men® calendar produced by Sean Ashbrook. The calendar was shot in Key West.

Shaut appeared on "Oprah" with other male models and actors to reveal secrets about what makes them sexy.

Oprah received a variety of answers from the men from muscular bodies and cute bottoms to long hair and nice smiles.

For Shaut, sexy is his big, brown eyes and long eyelashes.

But, if you saw his picture in the steamy calendar, you might think otherwise. Shaut is Mr. January. And for one of the coldest months of the year, Shaut isn't wearing much. I'm told he appears in the calendar wearing one line of thick rope.

Unfortunately, I didn't receive a calendar. So, I'm not sure how he's wearing that rope. But, I'm sure it's decent because Shaut's parents are still allowing him to model.

Shaut's mom teaches at Bridgetown Junior High and his dad is the assistant principal at Oak Hills High School.

"They (his parents) were kind of embarrassed about the calendar at first," he said. "Mom didn't like seeing her son naked."

But, he said his parents watched "Oprah" and now think modeling is a good opportunity for him.

"Mom said I did a good job," he said.

Besides, he said he didn't plan to just wear a rope for the calendar picture.

"When I agreed to go, I wanted to pose in jeans," he said. What he didn't know was that his jeans would be made of rope.

But, he said his almost nude picture doesn't bother him. Especially since it got him on "Oprah." And that appearance may have delivered more modeling opportunities for Shaut.

While Shaut and his friends were watching him on "Oprah," he said

the phone rang off the hook. "The phone rang about 200 times and after the show," he said.

Many of the calls were from interested young ladies - Shaut is single, and available. Other calls were from interested agencies.

One call came from a relative of the Pointer Sisters who is flying him out to Los Angeles in March possibly for an album cover, he said.

Another call came from a Tennessee company that is producing a calendar.

Shaut said his plans for the future include working in the business world. He added he might do some more modeling as well.

And this time he may wear more, like clothes, to keep his mom happy.
