St. Petersburg was once chosen as a location for a photo shoot simply because the city's name sounded interesting to the photographer. The photographer didn't bother to investigate the area other than checking out its architectural buildings. If he had, he might have more aptly named it a "Retirement" community. The photo crew encountered conservative retirees during the photo shoots, including some who complained to the police.
Conservative City
The photographer held photo shoots with female models a week before bringing the Campus Men into town. Conservative-minded retirees telephoned the police the previous week when the crew photographed a female model on a beach wearing only a man's dress shirt and no pants. The police detained the photo crew for an hour and returned frequently over the next few days until the girls left for their hometown.
"I suspect they were just coming around to see the girls," our photographer says. "I just wish they would have stayed off my back so I could work. We would never get hounded like that in a more liberal-minded place like Key West."
A week later, the male models pretty much stuck around the house during their week in St. Petersburg
"There was nothing to do each night after the photo shoots were finished," our photographer added.
"Even a BP Station would have livened things up," our male model photographer said.
The condo was located in a densely populated area, with few businesses or restaurants. It was impossible for the models to meet girls their own age.
No Bars
When the day's photo shoots were completed, everyone wanted to let off a little steam. The photo crew searched but could not find any fun night clubs in the area.
"The guys were disappointed because there were no girls around," he said. Unfortunately, they were forced to stay near their rented condo because they did not have transportation available to go to another city to find some "action."
