Oprah to Interview Keys Hunk
The Keys will get some national exposure today -- and we're talking exposure -- when the "Campus Men® in Key West" calendar is featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
The lusty calender of hard-bodied college students, photographed in the tropical beauty of Key West last year, will open today's episode off the popular television talk show with a montage of men.
The topic: What sexy men think of sexy men.
Winfrey will interview Brett Shaut, 1992's "Mr. January," who was photographed in Key West wearing only a thick piece of rope.
And what makes Shaut so sexy? Winfrey asks.
"Genetics," he replies.
Sean Ashbrook, the producer of the Campus Men® in Key West calendar, selected the 24-year-old student to appear on the show because of his witty personality.
"He is a walking one-liner," Ashbrook said.
Shaut said he and six other "nobodys" were interviewed onstage by Winfrey. They were joined by a panel of celebrities who answered questions on what it is like to be good-looking.
For the past two years, male models from Ohio State University have traveled to Key West for the photo shoot. The scenery includes Key West beaches, historic Conch houses and tropical foliage.
"I think everyone will recognize the photos as being in Key West," Ashbrook said. "I think this attests to the quality of the photos we are producing."
Winfrey's staff apparently described Shaut's performance onstage as one of the best. But Shaut remains modest about his 15 minutes in the limelight, and said he wasn't even nervous.
"Chevy Chase's agents are probably going to call me to do a movie," he said. "yeah, right."
The Oprah Winfrey Show airs at 4 p.m. today.
